Good Stress? (Around the end of DST!!?)

Fire & Heart: Enterprising Individuals with Compassion

Many, many, many years ago, while attending Nova University’s Executive MBA program, we took a great course on Stress Management.  While much time has passed since then, the psychology and biology of stress has not changed and likely never will change (think ‘fight/flight’).

A fundamental definition of stress is “the body’s non-specific reaction to change.”

One of the most salient points of the course was that stress can be good (eustress), or it can be harmful (distress).  The key is to manage your reaction to change and maintain a position to the left of the peak – before exhaustion, disease and breakdown occur.  Stress is part of every day lives.  How you choose to react to stressors will help you manage the effects of stress.

Grey questWell, not exactly.  More like we are serving a dog!  We are currently working hard to find the best home for a client’s Pekingese!  Of all the families that we have helped, this is the first time we have worked the pet side, as well.

And people ask if we are concerned about the internet-based concepts taking over this very human and high-touch business.
